Dave has been in the mobile business more than 6 months now, having picked up a job lot of Sunday Magazine cover discs from eBay for 99p, Dave trawled the local car boot sales for decommissioned pub and social club amps and speakers to put together a very impressive equipment rig worth nearly £500!
Dave attributes his success as a mobile DJ to his "gift of the gab". Renowned for mickey-taking amongst wedding guests, no-one is safe from Dave's eagle eye and razor-sharp wit. As you can see from his marketing picture, Dave can spin pretty much anything!
Typical Charges
Dave's typical rate for an evening event is just £75 locally. He's willing to offer a discount if you can arrange the transport for him, and if you buy the beers all night he can sometimes be tempted to turn up (with a couple of mates of course) for just £50!
Dave keeps his costs low by not buying Public Liability Insurance or tying himself up in mounds of administration and paperwork. His motto is "If you book me, I will come" and to date Dave's made good on this promise by arriving at nearly all of his gigs on time. Dave doesn't think that PLI is necessary because, in his own words, "if someone trips over my gear and smashes their head in, that's their stupid fault not mine.". With this type of attitude, it's no wonder his pricing is so competitive!
Included is a high powered 100W sound system with CD player, two traffic-light spotbanks and a choice of over 250 songs - plenty for an evening's function. Dave's next investment is a second CD player to minimise the gaps between songs - something he currently considers to be "banter time".
